About

Forty-sixth Star Press was established in Oklahoma City in 2008. Our initial focus is to tell Oklahoma’s story to children, but we hope to expand beyond that and give that Oklahoma manner a voice.

Our distinctive name was inspired by Oklahoma’s entry as the 46th state in 1907. The logo is derived from the original state flag which was created in 1911, but was decommissioned in 1925 because it was feared the vibrant red field suggested that we were a Socialist state. We’re not Socialists, we just think it looks cool.

There is indeed an Oklahoma literature, or at all costs, an Oklahoma
manner. Has anyone ever heard of an Ohio manner?
